That time of year again…

Just four days left of an eight week summer break. In some ways it has flown, but when I think back to things I did in week one… that just seems like a long time ago. I feel refreshed and ready to take on whatever professional challenges come my way. I’m ready to also create challenges for myself. Keep pushing the envelope. Maybe the Olympics being in my home town have something to do with this, maybe not. I’ve always been a perfectionist although I learnt early on in my career that teaching is not something one can ever perfect. I’ve always been striving to be a better educator. I take pride in my position and owe it to myself and my students to be the best I can be.
Over the next few days/weeks I’m going to reassess where I ‘am’ with regards to my teaching and learning and decide upon some goals for this coming academic year. Technology will, no doubt, feature heavily in these goals. I’m continuing the Certificate in Educational Technologies course and I’m really looking forward to learning more, reading more, tweeting more, blogging more and exploring more.
Monday morning will be the start of my nineteenth year of teaching. Bring it on.
