Stretching myself and trying to push, push, push…

Am finding that the more I think about things, the more I want to do and the more I need to learn. This is all GREAT and finally (after way too many years) my brain is completely engaged. However, trying to do all this while working full-time and raising a four-year-old is proving to be something of a challenge. I’m doing the best I can, finding time to work at night mostly. Once my little man is fast asleep I finish my school work and THEN I start reading, searching, experimenting. Could do with some more sleep, but hey ho!

My two latest ‘projects’:

1. iPads are coming to my classroom! I put forward a proposal to the Prep team, who are incredibly supportive, and we are going to attempt to bring iPads into the Performing Arts classroom for two sessions as a trial. I have sent a request to parents, asking anyone who owns an iPad to join us for the two sessions. We have some volunteers already and I’m calling them my Parent iPad Team! It’s all going to happen in the last week of November, so watch this space. Exciting times ahead (potentially).

2. I answered a call from the Principal of the Lower School who was asking for staff to present in-house workshops for colleagues on December 5th. Feeling the need to stretch myself (again!) I’ve signed up. My proposed workshop is ‘Building a PLN through Social Media‘ and will basically be getting teachers set up in the Twitterverse. Am not proclaiming to be an expert on the subject (no way!), but it is an amazing tool that I think teachers should at least be aware of.

Now… what next?
