It’s that time of year again – time for the end of year performance appraisal meetings. Here’s what I wrote as my self-reflections (headings not my own).
Accomplishments and Strengths
My ability to implement all that I had hoped to implement was disrupted this year by two major factors. I substituted in EC for 2 hours per day from December 2018 to May 2019. The yearbook also took up an excessive amount of my time. I am hopeful that next academic year I will be able to focus entirely on my role as ICT Integration Coach.
Performance Objective 1: Embed technology in an authentic way in one unit per year group, EC to Grade 5
I successfully worked with Grade 1, Grade 3 (WWPT and HWEO) and Grade 5 WWA in embedding technology into a unit of inquiry.
I successfully worked with KG classes at the beginning of the year in a series of lessons focusing on photography and Seesaw on the iPads
EC limits technology integration use, however I have not yet worked successfully with them in embedding technology in an authentic way
Grade 2 – connections with one teacher
Grade 4 – collaborated and co-taught with one teacher for WPT unit (variety of presentations)
Grade 5 – support given to a number of students during PYPX
Performance Objective 2: Establish effective co-teaching practice with teachers
I successfully co-taught with several teachers in the school who were enthusiastic about having me in their classrooms
I attempted to be more proactive with other teachers, but was unsuccessful
Other Accomplishments:
The Ubunifu Lab is now well-established as a makerspace. I hope to develop this further next year.
Student Twiga Tech Team initiated – fizzled out due to a variety of reasons. I hope to develop this further next year.
Digital Life Literacies Committee Chair – committee developed philosophy statement and Essential Learning Expectations. To be implemented next year – I am hopnig this will enable me to integrate more effectively with grade levels next academic year
Presented at Learning2 Conference in Zurich
Completed 2 online courses – Leaders of Learning (Harvard) and The Art of Building Trusting Coaching relationships with Elena Aguilar

Improvements Needed
Proposed performance objectives for next academic year, 2019-2020:
Proposed Performance Objective 1: Support teachers in the implementation of the new Digital Life Literacies curriculum, focusing on one unit of inquiry per grade level.
Plan collaboratively with teams
Co-teach, utilizing Ubunifu Lab as much as possible
Continue to provide optional PD sessions, including individual coaching sessions
Continue to work on answering my inquiry question: How can I be a more effective technology integration coach? through professional reading
Figure out Minecraft (maybe – it’s been a work in progress since 2017)
Proposed Performance Objective 2: Develop a deeper understanding of student agency
