Meet them where they are

I was looking through some of my old posts and found a sketchnote I made when participating in the Innovator’s Mindset MOOC last year.

It reminded me of the great quote by Dr. Kaleb Rashad (@kalebrashad):

“Love the hell out of people and meet them where they are”.

A good reminder… especially in my role as ICT Integration Coach. Each individual student and teacher has their own unique digital footprint. Some are more comfortable with devices, apps, and websites than others. No two people have the exact same journey that got them to where they are today. Everyone has strengths, and limitations, with regards to using technology in the classroom. My job is to ascertain where each individual is right now. And meet them there. Definitely a part of my job that I LOVE!
