This week I met with one of the Vice Principals to begin this year’s appraisal process. Lots of things to think about in my new role this year, so it was good to sit down and verbalise them.
‘Official’ Goals for this year (on my appraisal documentation):
Settle into my new role and establish positive and effective relationships with the entire Elementary staff.
Work with Elementary and Secondary ICT and Counselling Teams (cross campus) to develop a more robust Digital Citizenship Curriculum.
Understand the purpose and role of grade level tech coaches.
‘Unofficial’ Goals for this year (other things I want to work on):
Establishing digital learning integration including Seesaw as the platform for eportfolios across the Elementary.
Begin to create and encourage a culture of innovation – maker’s mindset – design thinking mindset (step one is to complete the transformation of the old computer lab into a makerspace).
Create an ‘army’ of digital citizen leaders – a mix of students from EC to Grade 5… definitely need more thought on the why, how, who, what, etc, but it’s started to bubble away in my head!
Contribute as much as I can as a member of the core team for the Elementary school musical – do everything in my power to ensure the students are successful!
Blog more. It definitely helps me to process my thinking.
