Seems like a long time since I wrote anything here.
So, here I am at the beginning of another school year. My 25th. Heading into my 22nd year of teaching overseas. And I’m not done yet.
My second year in Tech Integration Coach role and I’m hoping that this year is going to be better. I’m going to have a lot going on, but I like busy. I’m good when I’m busy. Here are my initial thoughts about things I’d like to work on this year. I’m sure I’ll add more…
Get into classrooms and co-teach more.
Implement and oversee new Technology Skills Continuum with increased focus on Digital Citizenship.
Set up a student tech team.
Improve global connections between the school/students/teachers and others worldwide.
Continue to develop a culture of MAKING in the school… including improved use of the Ubunifu Lab (makerspace).
Provide more Tech PD for our TA team.
Continue to administrate and oversee use of Seesaw across the Elementary school.
Other things at school, not really in the ‘Tech’ realm:
Continue to develop Roots & Shoots ASA at school and strengthen existing connections with the Dar es Salaam Roots & Shoots team.
Work on the Elementary Musical (I cannot say no!)
The Yearbook! What a monster that is.
My PD plans:
Complete Google Educator training (started ages ago… I keep starting and stopping… I just need to set some time aside to finish it!)
Learn more about using Minecraft in the classroom (read “NEWBIE”)
